Installing Django on Windows 10

  • The first step before installing Django you need to make sure you have python 3.4 or higher installed on you PC.
  • Open up the Windows command prompt (START / windows system/ Command Prompt) and type C:\Users\User>python --version. (Your prompt should look like C:\Users\yourUserName).
  • To install Django open up the Windows command prompt (START / windows system/ Command Prompt) and type pip3 install django and press Enter.  This will install the latest version of Django. If you wish to install a specific version of Django, type pip3 install django==djangoVersion. Replace 'django version'  with the version of django you wish to install, for example 3.0.1 =>pip3 install django==3.0.1
  • To verify the django version that you have installed,  type C:\Users\User>python -m django --version.
  • If you wish to uninstall Django, simply type C:\Users\User>python uninstall django.
